Vietnamese savers hold gold in three common forms. Each has strengths, and none is best for everyone.

From 10 October 2025, Decree 232/2025/ND-CP changed how gold bars are managed, allowing qualified firms and banks to be licensed to produce them. Bar and 9999 ring prices can still differ because demand for each differs.

Choose by goal

  • Long-term value, large amounts: bars or plain rings, low labour.
  • Saving a little each month: plain rings of 0.5 or 1 chỉ.
  • Wear and keep value: simple 24K jewellery with modest labour.
  • Wedding or first-birthday gifts: 24K torques, bracelets, rings that can be traded in later.

Three questions before buying

  1. What is the gap between the shop's buying and selling price? That is your loss if you sold the same day.
  2. How much is labour and is it refunded on resale?
  3. Does the shop commit in writing to buy back, with a formula?

At Kim Bảo Minh Châu, buying and selling prices are on Gold prices; the 24K buy-back deduction is 0.3% and trade-in 0% under the Buy-back commitment. KBMC currently trades jewellery and art gold; bars only once licensed.
