What a lifetime warranty covers, and what it does not

When buying jewellery you often hear "lifetime warranty". Only when a stone falls out do you learn it is not covered. To avoid misunderstanding, Kim Bảo Minh Châu sets out three groups.
Free for life
| Service | How often |
|---|---|
| Ultrasonic cleaning, polishing | Unlimited |
| Prong tightening, stone security check | Unlimited |
| Rhodium re-plating of 18K white gold | Once every 12 months |
| Resizing plain and non-eternity stone rings | Once in the first 12 months |
| Purity test, re-weighing | On request |
Charged by quote
- Replacing a stone lost through heavy impact.
- Repairing bent rings or broken chains caused by external force.
- Second and later resizes, or resizing full-eternity rings.
- Design changes on request.
KBMC quotes in writing first and proceeds only with your agreement.

Not covered
- Natural wear over years.
- Surface scratches.
- Coloured stones discoloured by chemicals.
- Pieces repaired elsewhere, since KBMC cannot vouch for that work.
Three things that make the difference
- Weight before and after. At every service the piece is weighed in front of you on intake and return. Polishing loss is logged on the record.
- No paper needed. The warranty card is digital, tied to the laser code; look it up by phone number.
- For whoever owns it. A gift is covered even though the recipient did not buy it.
In a dispute
If you disagree with the assessment of a fault, complain via Complaints. KBMC responds within 24 hours and decides within 7 working days.
